Prosecutors Ruled the Church Stabbing Self-Defense

The Clark County DA’s office dropped a man’s murder case, citing self-defense.

Prosecutors dismissed the charge against Brian McLemore, claiming he acted in self-defense.

The DA found the homicide was self-defense, the Metropolitan Police Department told the Review-Journal.

The district attorney’s office did not immediately comment on the case.
In the parking lot, detectives uncovered a little puddle of blood, but they never mentioned a weapon.

Video from surrounding businesses shows the stabbing suspect’s back, chest, arms, and neck tattoos. The arrest report compared the footage to McLemore’s mugshots.

McLemore was accused of stabbing Melvin Rodriguez, 20, in a church parking lot.

McLemore told officers he lived across the street from the church and was out cycling. He denied fighting.

Ryan Helmick, his attorney, couldn’t be reached.
