Recruiting More Volunteers in the Las Vegas Valley Is Red Rock Search and Rescue

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) –  To expand its team of volunteers, Red Rock Search and Rescue (RRSAR) is running a recruiting drive.

The rescue team, which is made up entirely of volunteers, responds to the call when Las Vegas police and other agencies want extra help looking for missing people or lost hikers.

The group’s volunteers also help with cold cases involving missing individuals and finding elderly people who have strayed from their homes.

According to Red Rock Search and Rescue, it is one of the biggest nonprofit search organizations in the nation.

RRSAR Captain Cloyd Cabral says the organization needs volunteers of all backgrounds and that anybody interested in helping should just be prepared to give up some of their free time.

After submitting an application, volunteers will go through a background check and start internal training.

The crew has received instruction in first aid, navigation, map reading, and compass use, as well as working with K-9s and drones.

According to RRSAR, they have roughly 160 volunteers as of right now and are aiming for 200.

Applications are being accepted through January 21. Visit https://www.redrocksar.org for further details.
