LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – A warning against fraudulent calls and emails was issued by the United States Court for the District of Nevada on Friday.
According to authorities, federal courts never phone or email people asking for cash or other private information so they may avoid being arrested.
Across the nation, there is a scam where victims are threatened with prosecution if they don’t pay a bail or show up for a subpoena, hearing, or jury duty.
Victims are coerced into giving out private information that might result in fraud and identity theft, or they are forced to pay the caller right away.
If you receive such a call, authorities suggest hanging up. It is not a document from a federal court.
