Two 16-year-old boys are now in custody facing charges in connection with a fatal drive-by shooting that claimed the lives of two young men in the northeast valley last month.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) announced the arrests on Thursday. The teenagers were booked into the Clark County Detention Center for their alleged involvement in the deadly shooting that occurred just before midnight on July 13th in the 3000 block of Kaibab Avenue, near E. Owens Avenue and N. Mojave Road.
The victims of the shooting have been identified as Efrain Guevara, 20, and Erick Roque, 18. Sadly, one of the victims died at the scene, while the other succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
Due to the severity of the crime and their age, the two 16-year-old suspects will be automatically transferred to the adult justice system in accordance with Nevada law.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and further details regarding the motive and circumstances surrounding the incident have not yet been released.
