Las Vegas, NV—An Uber driver was fatally shot during a road rage confrontation near the Palazzo on the Las Vegas Strip on Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 4:04 p.m. at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Palazzo Drive. Authorities report that the victim, a white male in his 50s, was driving a gray Jeep Cherokee with two passengers when he became involved in a road rage altercation with the driver of a silver Subaru WRX.
Preliminary details indicate that both vehicles were traveling along the intersection when the confrontation escalated. The victim exited his vehicle and approached the suspect’s car, at which point he was shot in the neck. Despite being armed, the victim did not discharge his firearm.
The suspect, identified as a woman in her 20s, fled the scene but was later apprehended near Washington Avenue and Torrey Pines Drive. Detectives are currently interviewing her.
Authorities have confirmed that both the victim and the suspect were armed; however, only the suspect fired her weapon. The area has since been reopened to traffic, and no additional suspects are being sought.
