According to arrest records, a suspect has been arrested for allegedly killing a woman in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas on Saturday.
Hector Camacho, 23, was arrested on suspicion of open murder on Sunday, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police booking logs.
The event number associated with Camacho’s arrest corresponds to the number included in the LVMPD press release about the shooting.
According to LVMPD, officers responded to a shooting around 5 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, in the 3700 block of Melbourne Circle, near Pecos and Alexander roads in the northeast valley.
When they arrived, they discovered a woman with a gunshot wound. At the scene, medical personnel pronounced her dead.
According to LVMPD, patrol units observed a possible suspect vehicle fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed and attempted to stop it, but the pursuit ended with the suspect vehicle evading officers.
“The investigation by the LVMPD Homicide Section indicates that the suspect was firing from a vehicle when the victim was shot,” police said in a statement.
According to court records, Camacho appeared in court for the first time on Sunday afternoon and was ordered to remain detained without bail. His next appearance in court is scheduled for Tuesday.
There has been no further information released. The victim’s name will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
