CARSON CITY, Nev. (NV, Globe) – Early Sunday morning, a 23-year-old male was killed during a single car rollover incident in Carson City.
According to Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol Division (NSP, HP), the incident occurred at 1:00 a.m. Police responded to a report of a fatal collision on I-580 on September 25.
According to the investigation, Griseldo Castaneda Benitez of Carson City was operating a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado truck southbound on I-580 between Eastlake Boulevard and North. Carson St., when the automobile crossed over its lane and collided with the center median wall. According to NSP, HP, the automobile veered to the right and failed to stop for unknown reasons.
Castaneda Benitez was ejected from the vehicle as the automobile flipped over and caught fire.
Castaneda Benitez was taken to the hospital but died as a result of his injuries. This collision is thought to have been caused by speed and impairment.
