NEVADA – The Nevada Attorney General’s Office is displaying the Opioid Memorial Wall through Sept. 2.
The wall is on display to raise awareness of the opioid issue in Nevada and the nation.
The wall is on exhibit in conjunction with Partnership Carson City and the Nevada Attorney General’s Office.
In honor of International Overdose Awareness Day (Aug. 31), the Opioid Memorial Wall is 16 feet tall and 8 feet wide with empty pill bottles attached.
The display is at 100 North Carson St., Attorney General’s Office.
“Each bottle represents one death from an opioid overdose in Nevada to physically highlight the magnitude of the issue,” said Partnership Carson City associate director Samantha Szoyka. “It’s a quiet killer, and you may not even realize if someone is addicted. It’s important to talk about opioids with children, teens, family members, and friends. It’s also a reminder to remove hazardous medicines from your house and carefully dispose of them. An overdose can happen rapidly and leave lasting pain.”
