Due to the Outage, All Nevada DMV Offices Are Closed on Saturday
The state of Nevada is experiencing internet outages.
Most state websites and online services are down, including DMV.
Due to the disruption, all Nevada DMV offices are closed on Saturday.
Repairs on the cable continue Friday evening.
The Department of Administration says a fiber connection failed, and while repairs are underway, no timeframe is available.
The administration said the outage would last through Friday’s work hours.
Even after renovations, DMV offices will be closed Saturday.
“We realize this causes numerous problems. DMV Director Julie Butler said the agency will work closely with clients to honor Friday appointments.
Customers with appointments for regular DMV services like a driver’s license or vehicle registration can walk in from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. this week.
Customers should provide their text message or email confirmation.
Customers with Friday, October 14 appointments in Carson City, Henderson, Las Vegas, and Reno can walk in.
Local offices will reschedule drive test sessions for customers.
The DMV will offer walk-in services for new residents who require a Nevada ID to vote in the forthcoming election (see below for more).
Northern Nevada state offices lack internet and email. Some office phones work.
Thursday’s outages started at 5:30 p.m. Restoration work was first delayed due to its proximity to an active rail line.
