RENO, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) – After being detained by American authorities in Mexico, a Fallon man sought for the sexual assault of a six-year-old girl has been extradited back to the United States. Marshals.
On January 20, Pascual Reyes-Muniz was returned to Fallon from Mexico City. He was sought for for indecent behavior with a minor under 14 and sexual assault of a youngster under 14.
Reyes-first Muniz’s arrest warrant was issued by a Churchill County court back in 2007. He afterwards fled to his native Mexico to avoid being apprehended.
The Churchill County District Attorney’s Office, the Fallon Police Department, the U.S. Marshals Service offices in Reno and Mexico City, as well as the Department of Justice’s Office of International Affairs, collaborated to make his arrest.
“I want to thank all the agencies involved with apprehending this dangerous fugitive. This is a good example of how agencies in Northern Nevada work together to help bring justice to victims,” said District of Nevada U.S. Marshal Gary Schofield.
Reyes-Muniz was detained at the Churchill County Detention Facility.
