NEVADA – Nevada State Police say that a woman from Fallon died in a car accident east of Winnemucca.
On Jan. 28, NSP troopers were called to I80 near Winnemucca because of a crash.
Their preliminary investigation showed that a Chevy SUV was driving east on I80 in the right lane when it hit the back of a white Peterbilt tractor-trailer combination also going east on I80.
Because of the accident, the Chevy went off the right side of the road and flipped over.
Leila Johnson, 75, of Fallon, was not buckled in when she was in the SUV. She was thrown out and died at the scene from her injuries.
