NEVADA – On Monday morning, a fatal accident occurred on Old Virginia Road in Reno involving a minivan and a bicycle.
The accident caused the road to be closed for several hours.
The Reno Fire Department, Reno Police Department, and REMSA responded to the scene near Auto Center Drive around 11:00 a.m.
The cyclist was hit by the minivan and was pinned under the vehicle.
The RFD used airbags to lift the car off the victim, but the cyclist’s injuries were too severe, and they were pronounced dead on the scene by REMSA.
The police have reported no suspicion of impairment or speed at this time.
