NEVADA – Tragic news unfolded in Sparks as authorities confirmed the death of a man following a shooting involving police officers. The incident took place at the Iron Horse Shopping Center located at Prater Way and McCarran Boulevard. Officers from the Sparks Police Department responded to the scene around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday night, leading to a heavy police presence.
According to the initial reports, officers made contact with a man who they believed was armed. Upon their approach, the man fled from the police, resulting in officers shooting him. The specifics of the events leading up to the shooting have not yet been clarified. The injured man was immediately transported to the hospital, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the shooting has been handed over to the Reno Police Department. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and contact the police or provide tips to Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.
