NEVADA – According to Lyon County Sheriff Brad Pope, a standoff at Moonlite Bunny Ranch ended with a female employee in jail following a reported altercation with another coworker at the Mound House company. The incident caused no injuries.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Communications Division received a 911 call from the Moonlight Bunny Ranch at 9:37 p.m. for a reported altercation between two coworkers at the establishment. The reporting party stated that they heard apparent gunshots during the 911 call.
Several more gunshots were heard when Lyon County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived. According to Sheriff Pope in a news release, LCSO personnel promptly began an evacuation of the facility after determining that a single employee of the Moonlight Bunny Ranch had discharged a handgun. That employee then went inside a room within the company.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Crisis Negotiations Team (CNT), Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), and Technology Team all responded. In addition, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, the Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol Division, the Washoe Tribal Police Department, the Central Lyon County Fire Department, the Carson City Fire Department, and the East Fork Fire Department all responded to assist.
According to Sheriff Pope, the Moonlight Bunny Ranch employee surrendered to LCSO personnel at 12:33 a.m. and was brought into custody without incident.
