Sparks Fire on Glenn Meadows Drive Quickly Contained, Cat Lost
A fire broke out in Sparks, Nevada, on Glenn Meadows Drive on Friday afternoon, with a quick response from firefighting teams preventing injuries but tragically resulting in the loss of a cat. While one firefighter was hospitalized for smoke inhalation as a precaution, the blaze was swiftly controlled.
Fire personnel, including four engines, two aerials, and a battalion chief, were dispatched to the scene. NV Energy Gas and Electric also temporarily responded, and REMSA provided medical support. Investigations are ongoing as the fire department awaits the investigator’s findings.
Tragic House Fire Claims Two Lives in South Reno
A devastating house fire in south Reno claimed the lives of an adult and a juvenile on Teramo Court off Veterans Parkway. Firefighters rushed to the scene around 3 a.m., discovering the house engulfed in flames with the roof collapsing. Despite their efforts to rescue the occupants, a man and a juvenile boy were pulled from the house and later succumbed to their injuries after being transported to the hospital. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and the Reno Fire Department urges anyone with information to contact them at 775-334-2300.
