For the Second Month in Row Nevada’s Jobless Rate Rises

RENO, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) – The Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation just released fresh data showing that the state’s unemployment rate has grown for the second consecutive month.

The November unemployment rate rose from 4.6% to 4.9%, which DETR attributes to an increase in the Nevada work force.

At the same time, the number of employed and jobless persons increased during the month, owing to moderate employment growth in smaller counties.

The Reno-Sparks area’s unemployment rate remained unchanged at 3.5%. However, the unemployment rate in Carson City rose to 4%.

In Las Vegas, the unemployment rate is 6%.
