MINDEN, Nev. (NV, Globe) – A former Douglas County employee prevented prosecution after admitting to stealing public funds while working for the county.
Rena Petri was a case manager in Douglas County Social Services. She pled guilty on September 26 to two charges of stealing for $2,400 and $2,000, respectively.
According to records, Petri exploited her position as a case manager to generate fraudulent rental assistance documentation.
For each offense, Petri may face a maximum of four years in jail and a $5,000 fine. In addition, she will be required to make full restitution for her offenses.
Sentencing has been scheduled for November 22, 2022 in Minden.
