LOVELOCK, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) -According to Nevada State Police, a semi-truck collision near Lovelock has shut down westbound I-80.
The collision occurred shortly before 10:00 a.m. Cooking oil has covered a 75-100 yard section of the street as a result of the incident. A cleanup crew is on its way to clean up the oil.
The semi-truck caught fire and was covered in flames. It was transporting three trailers when one of them became detached, leading another truck to collide with it.
The semi’s driver escaped with only minor injuries. There is no information on the driver who crashed with the trailer’s condition.
Police believe two additional cars were involved, although this has yet to be confirmed.
There is no timetable for reopening the route.
