Cyclist Dead Two Days After a Semi-truck Collision Near Apex

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (NV, Globe) – Two days after collision with a semi-truck in Apex, Nevada, a bicyclist died.
The accident happened on Tuesday, September 27, at the Love’s Travel Stop on Las Vegas Boulevard North, south of US-93.
According to authorities, the bicycle was heading north on Las Vegas Blvd. at US-93 when a 2020 Freightliner Single Truck driving north struck him from behind, ejecting him into the road.
The 36-year-old male had life-threatening injuries and was flown by life-flight helicopter ambulance to the University Medical Center’s Trauma Unit, where he remained in critical condition.
The Freightliner driver showed no symptoms of impairment and stayed on the site.
The biker died from his injuries on Thursday, according to authorities.
The rider’s death is the 109th traffic-related death in the LVMPD’s jurisdiction in 2022.
