NEVADA – Herbert Muskin, a 101-year-old World War II veteran, has passed away after a severe car crash caused by two armed robbery suspects who were fleeing the police.
Muskin had been living in Henderson for over 20 years and was one of the last surviving service members from the war. As a former army captain who served in the European theater, Muskin dedicated his life to serving his country.
He was also an orthodontist who continued working until he was 79. He was laid to rest in Long Island, where he had grown up and lived most of his life.
During the funeral service, Muskin’s wife of 67 years, Sherry, was presented with the flag that draped her husband’s coffin.
The community mourns the loss of this hero and offers condolences to his family during this difficult time.
