NEVADA – Thursday, investigators charged a 40-year-old man with attempting to have sexual contact with a 10-year-old child.
Todd Cranmore was arrested for attempted child sexual assault, attempted child neglect or abuse, and attempted lewdness with a kid.
HEAT claimed in a statement that the Human Exploitation and Trafficking unit reported Cranmore contacted an undercover HEAT detective’s social media account and discussed wanting to have sex with a minor.
Cranmore organized a meeting between the investigator posing as a father with young children and the father’s 10-year-old daughter.
Cranmore was arrested by HEAT and the Regional Sex Offender Notification Unit when he arrived at the meeting site.
The probe is still ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this case or other instances of sex trafficking or prostitution is urged to contact HEAT at (775) 325-6470.
Detectives from the Reno Police Department, the Sparks Police Department, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, the Washoe County School District Police Department, and the University Police Department – Northern Command are members of HEAT.
