SPARKS, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) – UPDATED: The Sparks Police Department confirmed Tuesday night that the suspect in the shooting that hospitalized one guy near the Marina on Monday has been apprehended.
Further investigation, according to Sparks PD, identified the suspect as O’Niel Thomas, and discovered that he fired numerous rifle shots at the victim, striking both the victim and his car.
It was around 8:00 p.m. Sparks PD Detectives and the Regional Crime Suspension Unit apprehended Thomas on Tuesday, December 13. Additional evidence was discovered on Thomas after he was detained and a search warrant was executed on his residence and the car he was driving at the time of the incident.

Just before noon on December 12, officers with the Sparks Police Department received several reports of gunshots in the area of Prater Way and Howard Drive. While dispatch was on its way to the location, they received numerous additional reports of a guy down near McCarran Blvd. and Nichols Way.
The unidentified man was taken to the hospital in critical condition. His current state is unclear. At this moment, police say they have no information on a suspect or suspects.

Secret Witness is offering a $2,000 prize for information leading to the suspect’s capture and conviction.
