Lyon County, NV – A tragic accident on June 7 claimed the life of a motorcyclist on US 95A. The Nevada State Police responded to the scene of the crash at Spruce Avenue at approximately 5 a.m.
According to the preliminary investigation, a 2017 Suzuki GSX-R1000 motorcycle was traveling southbound on US 95A, just north of Spruce Avenue. Simultaneously, a 2004 Peterbilt flatbed, towing two flatbed trailers, was making a left turn from Spruce Avenue to head northbound on US 95A.
Authorities report that the motorcyclist attempted to pass a vehicle in a no-passing zone and continued southbound at a high rate of speed. Tragically, the motorcycle collided with the second trailer, resulting in a devastating impact.
The rider has been identified as 33-year-old William David Hulsey from Fallon. Upon impact, Hulsey was ejected from the motorcycle and sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Northern Command West M.I.R.T (Multidisciplinary Investigation & Reconstruction Team) is currently investigating this crash to determine the exact cause and sequence of events leading to this tragic incident.
