RENO, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) – Due to fresh snowfall, Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe will open for outdoor enthusiasts on Friday.
The National Weather Service predicts two to four feet of snow at 7,000 feet by Wednesday. The resort will produce snow in addition to what Mother Nature provides.
“It’s amazing to see the storm door coming up in such a tremendous way right now.” “The heavy snowfall that is predicted, along with freezing temperatures and our powerful snowmaking technology, will allow us to open even more terrain rapidly,” said Mike Pierce, marketing director at Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe. “At 8,260′, the highest base area elevation in Tahoe, Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe is where the snow is.”
The resort will be open from Friday, Nov. 11 through Sunday, Nov. 13. Mt. Rose will be closed midweek from November 14 to November 18 to complete construction on the new Lakeview Express chairlift. On November 19, they will reopen for the winter season.
All parking will be at the Main Lodge, and services will include the Lodgepole Cafe, Timbers Bar, Tuning Center, and Rental Shop, as well as season lease pick-up. The Lodge will open at 8 a.m. All ski school lessons will commence on November 19.
