NEVADA – The Nevada Childcare Fund, aimed at assisting families with affordable childcare during the pandemic, has been actively operating since its launch in July 2022. Recently, the program has expanded its eligibility criteria, allowing more families to benefit from its services.
To initiate the fund, Nevada lawmakers allocated $50 million, demonstrating their commitment to helping families access affordable childcare.
Low-income families in Nevada have the opportunity to qualify for the program, which continues to be in operation.
According to a local nonprofit interviewed by FOX5, there has been a significant increase in the number of families applying for these funds. In fact, they reported a 30% surge in applications and an additional 11,000 children receiving support each month.
Regardless of past eligibility status, all families are encouraged to apply for the program as the expanded criteria now make this valuable resource more widely available.
