NEVADA – The recent winter weather in Nevada has caused the closure of various state offices, including the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). As a result, customers with previously scheduled appointments have been unable to attend. In response, the DMV is now allowing walk-in appointments until March 17th for those customers who missed their appointments due to the weather.
Customers who had appointments scheduled in Reno and Carson City earlier this week are encouraged to have their text message confirmation of their appointment. If they don’t have it, the DMV has printed lists of scheduled appointments at those offices.
Eli Rohl, Public Information Officer for the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles, stated that it is best to check the DMV website and social media accounts for any updates on office closures and schedule changes due to the weather. He emphasized that the safety of customers and employees is a top priority for the DMV, and they don’t want anyone to risk their safety by traveling on icy roads to attend their appointments.
For those who were scheduled to take a driving test, the department will reach out to them to reschedule as soon as possible.
Overall, the DMV is making every effort to accommodate customers affected by the weather-related closures and is urging them to prioritize their safety when planning their visits to the DMV.
