NEVADA – Due to severe winter weather, Governor Joe Lombardo has announced that state offices in several Nevada counties, including Carson City, Douglas County, Lyon County, Storey County, and Washoe County, will remain closed on February 27, 2023, with the exception of essential public safety and corrections personnel.
The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) and the Department of Public Safety (DPS) have already reported transportation difficulties and potentially hazardous road conditions in the region.
High winds in Washoe Valley have required ongoing pilot car operations.
The Office of the Governor will continue to monitor the situation closely in collaboration with NDOT and DPS.
Governor Lombardo urges residents to take precautions on the roads and to follow all NDOT and DPS guidance.
