Nevada’s July Unemployment Rate Decreased to 4.4%

NEVADA – Nevada’s July unemployment rate decreased to 4.4%.

That’s a drop of 3,526 unemployed persons or 2.2%.

Nevada’s labor force grew by roughly 2,000 individuals last month to 1,521,381.

Reno’s unemployment rate fell a tenth to 3.2% in July. Carson City’s rate fell from 3.7% to 3.6%.

Reno has 256,751 employed and 8,342 unemployed. Carson City has 25,733 workers and 936 jobless.

Las Vegas saw a one-tenth drop but remained higher at 5.6%. That’s better than the south’s 8.4% unemployment rate a year earlier.

Las Vegas’s labor force of 1.1 million included 74,102 job seekers.

In Douglas County, 3.8% of 21,448 people are unemployed.

Churchill County had 3.4% unemployment among 10,878 residents.

Lyon County has 1,061 unemployed among 23,472 residents.

Eureka and White Pine counties each had 3.0% unemployment in July.
