RENO, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) – Earlier this month, the Peppermill’s Tuscany Ballroom was packed with officials from firms that are either new to or expanding in our region.
“We were in the bay area years ago and companies said they would never move to Reno,” explained EDAWN CEO Mike Kazmierski.
Reno, according to Kazmierski, was once considered only an aging gaming community. But that has changed, and it is now a great location for technology and industry.
“We have not had to work that hard to attract companies in the last few years. More and more companies are coming our way,” he explained.
“we’re a young company,” explained CEO Eric Plam. “We anticipate having 20-30 employees in the next year or two.”
Plam claims his company has developed a system that uses QR codes to allow individuals who don’t carry cash to tip, and he thinks Reno is not just a more inexpensive location to live than the bay region, but it’s also ideal for his business model.
“There is an acute labor shortage in the hospitality industry,” Plam mentioned. “We help workers to get more income.”
