NEVADA – On drug and stolen property charges, a Reno man was given a total of 28 years in jail.
Last December, 62-year-old Randall Dean Forcier pled guilty to counts of trafficking in a schedule 1 controlled narcotic, possession with intent to sell, and possession of the stolen property.
Forcier’s criminal record dates back to the early 1980s and includes seven felony convictions for a variety of offenses, including robbery with a deadly weapon and grand theft.
Based on his previous background, he will be expected to serve a minimum of ten years in jail before becoming parole eligible.
Christopher Hicks, the district attorney of Washoe County, stated that this case exemplifies the grave danger posed by career criminals in our community. My office will continue to pursue habitual offenders to the fullest extent of the law.
The case against Forcier began in January 2020, when the Northern Nevada Repeat Offender Program apprehended him after a traffic check. Further inquiry led to his arrest for methamphetamine and heroin possession.
In April 2022, after posting a $4,500 bond, he was detained again following an inquiry into his meth sales. Forcier sold almost a pound of methamphetamine to an undercover Regional Narcotics Unit investigator during that investigation.
