A Silver Springs resident, 55-year-old Brandy Moore, faces serious charges following an incident reported on Saturday, June 29th.
Responding to a Distress Call
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 2:30 pm regarding a possible assault and kidnapping at gunpoint on Santa Fe Trail in Stagecoach, Nevada.
Swift Action Leads to Arrest
Responding deputies initiated a search for the suspect’s vehicle. After approximately 90 minutes, they located the car in the parking lot of a Silver Springs Casino.
Victims Found Safe, Suspect Apprehended
Both the suspect, identified as Brandy Moore, and the unharmed victim were found inside the vehicle.
Evidence Seized, Charges Filed
Deputies also located the firearm described in the initial call, along with a small amount of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Based on the investigation, Moore was arrested and charged with several offenses:
- Kidnapping
- Two counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon
- Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Awaiting Court Hearing
Moore is currently being held at the Lyon County Jail with a bail set at $323,640. Her next court appearance is likely to be scheduled soon.
