Sparks City Considers Making Sideshows a Misdemeanor Offense for Spectators

NEVADA – The City of Sparks in Nevada is considering a new bill that would criminalize watching or setting up sideshows. According to city officials, these illegal exhibitions pose a threat to public safety, disrupt traffic, damage property, and cause public disturbances.

The proposed bill describes a sideshow spectator as anyone present or within a 200-foot radius of a street race, sideshow, or other speed exhibition with the intention of observing, watching, or witnessing the spectacle. This includes anyone who arrives at the location of the event, regardless of how they got there.

Initially, the draft of the bill did not specify any potential penalties for individuals found guilty of watching sideshows. However, this may change as the bill undergoes further review and revision.
