NEVADA – The Nevada State Police said that a head-on collision on US 95 in Nye County, 10 miles south of Beatty, killed five people and a dog.
On Friday, a southbound Subaru veered into the northbound lane to overtake another vehicle. Tragically, the Subaru hit a northbound Buick SUV head-on. Both automobiles exploded into flames upon impact, preventing escape.
The Subaru had a driver and two children, while the Buick had two people and a dog. The crash killed all five vehicle occupants and the dog, saddening emergency responders.
The Nevada State Police instituted a “full closure” at 8 p.m. to investigate and clean up the damage. Traffic moved slowly on the shoulder despite the closure.
