NEVADA – On September 11th, a tragic incident occurred in Fernley, Nevada, where two individuals lost their lives due to an apparent overdose. The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office deputies and North Lyon Fire Department personnel promptly responded to a call on Jessica Lane in Fernley around 4:30 p.m., reporting an unconscious and unresponsive man.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered three unresponsive adults at the residence, all displaying signs of overdose from illicit drugs. Immediate life-saving measures, including the administration of the opioid-reversal drug Narcan, were initiated by deputies and fire department personnel.
Unfortunately, two of the three patients were later pronounced dead at the scene, while the third patient was transported to Renown Regional Medical Center for further treatment. The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division commenced an investigation into the incident, revealing evidence of recent illicit drug use by all three patients. Controlled substances and other evidence were seized from the residence.
In another distressing turn of events, around 1:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and North Lyon Fire personnel responded to a separate overdose report at a residence on Wedge Lane in Fernley. Deputies and fire personnel found the same individual who had previously been transported to Renown from the Jessica Lane address unresponsive once again.
Life-saving measures were administered, including Narcan, and the patient was successfully revived before being transported for further treatment.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office has not disclosed the identities of the individuals involved, and the investigation is ongoing.
