Washoe County Offices and Facilities Were Closed on October 28 to Commemorate Nevada Day

Many Washoe County offices will be closed on Friday, October 28 to commemorate Nevada Day, the statehood celebration.

The offices and facilities listed below will be closed:

    • Administrative offices at the Washoe County Complex: 1001 E. Ninth Street, Reno.
    • Alf Sorensen Community Center
    • All Washoe County Libraries. Book drops and online services will remain available. For renovations, the Sierra View Library and book drop will remain closed.
    • City of Reno administrative offices
    • City of Reno recreation facilities
    • Larry D. Johnson Community Center
    • Regional Animal Services Shelter Operations and Office. Field operations will resume as normal. Pet redemption will begin at 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday
    • Regional Transportation Commission administrative offices. All transportation services will operate on a Sunday schedule, and the RTC Regional Connector to Carson City will not operate.
    • Reno Justice Court, Sparks Justice Court, Incline Village Justice Court, Incline Constable, and Wadsworth Justice Court
    • Sparks City Hall
    • Sparks Municipal Court
    • Sparks Parks & Recreation
    • The Second Judicial District Court
    • The Washoe County District Attorney’s Office
    • The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office. All administrative offices are closed.
    • Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue Headquarters and Administrative Offices: 3663 Barron Way, Reno.
    • Washoe County Health District – Clinical services
    • Washoe County Human Services Agency. All meal distribution locations.

The county offices listed below will be open:

    • The Office of the County Clerk at the Washoe County Complex will be open throughout the holiday opening at 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for false business names, notary bond applications, and marriage licenses
    • The Washoe County Registrar of Voters Office will be open on Nevada Day at 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., to answer voters’ inquiries and provide electoral services. The Washoe County Complex Vote Center will also be open through 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday is early voting day. All other Vote Centers will be open as well.

Reno Police Department is informing the public of the following phone and online reporting options:

    • Call or text 911 for all emergencies needing police, fire, or medical assistance. If you can, call; if you can’t, Text messages.
    • Call 775-334-COPS for non-emergency dispatch help (2677).
    • To submit an online report, go to RPD’s website and click on “File a Report.”
