Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump will hold campaign events this afternoon in Las Vegas in a final push to secure Nevada’s six electoral votes. Harris will make her first campaign appearance in Reno prior to her event at 5pm in Las Vegas. Both of Harris’ event locations remain undisclosed to the public. Trump’s event will be at the Lee family forum in Henderson Nevada with the former president expected to begin his remarks at 3:30 PM.

Harris’ Las Vegas event will feature Jennifer Lopez and the musical group Mana in a last ditch effort to appeal to the Hispanic vote following controversial jokes made at Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally by Tony Hinchcliffe.

The Harris-Walz campaign has heavily relied on Hollywood celebrities for endorsements and campaign appearances. GOTV events in the past two weeks have featured Jimmy Kimmel, Megan Thee Stallion, Beyonce, John Legend, Eminem, Lizzo, Usher, Stevie Wonder, Jennifer Garner, Samuel L. Jackson, Spike Lee, and Julia Roberts.

This afternoon, Trump’s event will feature the Quets family whose marine son was murdered by suspected cartel members 30 minutes south of the U.S. Mexico border. On the campaign trail, Trump’s celebrity endorsers include Kodak Black, Jason Aldean, Russel Brand, Harrison Butker, Jim Caviezel, Brett Favre, Mel Gibson, Hulk Hogan and Elon Musk.

Harris has abandoned her “joyful warrior” image and has relentlessly attacked Trump as a fascist and a threat to democracy, despite calls for toning down the rhetoric after two failed assassination attempts on the former president. This week, President Joe Biden publicly referred to Trump supporters as garbage, prompting President Trump to campaign in Greenbay, Wisconsin while riding shotgun on a personalized garbage truck.

Speaking of trucks, the Trump-Vance campaign is debuting a mobile billboard today that will travel along the Las Vegas strip, claiming Trump will lower taxes, stop the wars, secure the border and lower gas prices.

Trump campaign spokesman Alex Pfeiffer said in a statement to The Globe, “Four more years of Kamala Harris would be scarier than any Halloween horror movie: high toes, open border, and high gas prices are downright frightening.”

Vice Presidential nominee, Senator JD Vance, is scheduled to deliver remarks at a rally in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 10:00 AM. The event will be held at the Whitney Recreation Center and registration for general admission can be found here.

Early voting returns in Nevada show Republicans with a 42,000 ballot edge over Democrats and polling indicates that Harris and Trump are in a dead heat in the final days leading up to “Election Day” next Tuesday. Yesterday, the Democrats voter registration advantage in Clark County dropped from 87,000 in 2020 to a mere advantage of 9,435. This is the lowest advantage Democrats have held over Republicans since December 2007. GOP Consultant Jeremy Hughes reports that on average, Republicans are netting over 400 registrations a day in what was once a Democratic stronghold.

Editor’s note: The Globe will be interviewing the Quets family following the rally and will publish their remarks in a separate article.
