Later this morning, Assemblywoman Annie Black will announce the endorsement of Congresswoman Carol Miller (WV-03), who serves as the Recruitment Chair of the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC).
Two weeks ago, Black announced her candidacy for Congressional District 4 with hopes to unseat Democratic incumbent Steven Horsford.
Congresswoman Miller released the following statement:
“As the only Republican woman in the 116th Congress’ freshman class, I am thrilled to see so many talented, dedicated Republican women running for office in 2022 – and I am so glad to count you among them. I know that you care deeply about your community, your district, your state, and your country. Your service to your constituents and your shared values set you apart from your liberal, Democrat opponent, and we need you in Congress. I am honored to give you my endorsement for your Congressional race and look forward to serving alongside you in the 118th Congress to rebuild our economy, keep our schools and businesses open, and protect our freedoms.”
Black shared a statement with The Globe before releasing the news:
“I will do everything in my power to stop and reverse the Biden Administration’s policies that are devastating our state – unlike my opponent Steven Horsford, who votes with Biden and Pelosi 100% of the time. My history, my family, my businesses and my future are in Nevada and I want to make sure it stays a place where anyone can work to achieve their American Dream,” said Annie Black. “I’m grateful for the overwhelming support we’ve gotten from people all over Nevada, excited to have Tony Lane on the team, and ecstatic to have Congresswoman Miller’s support. I can’t wait to join her in DC!”
After Black announced her candidacy for CD-4, one of her challengers, Tony Lane, withdrew his candidacy and became Co-Chairman of Team Black.
Black will face Republican challengers Veteran Sam Peters, Professional boxer Jesse Vargas, and Chance Bonaventura in the June primary.
