Former Democratic Nevada Assemblyman Steven Brooks has been arrested for DUI after a car chase involving him and the Las Vegas Metropolitan police earlier this morning. 8 News Now reports:
According to police sources, Brooks was taken into custody following a police pursuit that started near Sahara Avenue and Paradise Road around 4:30 a.m. and ended less than two miles away at Las Vegas Boulevard and Bonanza Road. The intersection remained closed for nearly four hours.
Brooks, who is familiar with law enforcement because of numerous arrests, was expelled from the Nevada Legislature in 2013 for threatening to kill Marilyn Kirkpatrick, who was also serving in the legislature as the Speaker. At the time, Brooks was a second-term Democrat representing North Las Vegas.

Maybe this troubled liberal didn't mean to run from the cops. But when faced with the prospect of showing valid ID, the innocent guy then went into a flashback to the day that him, Don Cornelius, Little Ricardson and Geraldo got stuck with an extra water fountain during Jim Crow.
Restorative justice let him off the hook…in my opinion…. Not doing him or society much of a favor. Contrast his situation with Bundy’s. Are race and political ideology being employed here? Aron Foerd should employ a special prosecutor to investigate, and remove himself from situation, same with Reality Show. In my opinion….DA Wolfeson
