A Man Faced Three Felony Charges for Making a Bomb Threat at Las Vegas Airport Last Week

LAS VEGAS – Sergio Magana, 36, is also accused of harming property and having a fake bomb. On Monday, two new offenses were added: unlawful production, procurement, possession, sale, advertisement, or transit of a fake bomb and damage to property.

According to a police report acquired by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Magana drove nearly a mile on airport grounds before being apprehended on Aug. 25.

According to the Review-Journal, “the car stopped on (the officer’s) driver’s side, and the subject said, ‘I’m trying to grab your attention; I’ve been looking for you.” “(The motorist) then declares, ‘I’ve got a bomb right here,’ while holding up an unknown aerosol can wrapped in duck tape.”

According to the newspaper, the man informed Las Vegas police that he drove into the airport’s security area to inform them about “cartel people” who he claims come into the convenience shop where he works.

Magana is represented by the Clark County Public Defender’s Office, according to court documents. On Tuesday, officials there did not immediately reply to a phone and email from The Associated Press.

There were no explosives found in the truck, according to a police dog. According to airport spokesman Joe Rajchel, the event resulted in no flight cancellations or delays.
