LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – Update (1:45 p.m.): Police have now verified that eight people have been found, with two confirmed deceased.
The injuries vary from critical to fair, and the surviving patients are being treated at UMC.
More details will be provided at a news conference at Metro Headquarters on Thursday at 3 p.m
Original Story (12 p.m.): A stabbing occurred in front of a casino on Las Vegas Boulevard on Thursday morning, killing one person and injuring five others.
According to authorities, the attack occurred about 11:42 a.m. on the 3100 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard, near Encore Resorts Blvd.
So far, five people have been identified and sent to local hospitals in unknown states.
Another victim has been certified dead, and a suspect has been arrested.
Spring Mountain Rd/Sands Ave are closed in both directions as police investigate. Drivers should look for other routes.
Following the announcement of the occurrence, Clark County issued the following statement:
“Our thoughts are with the victims of this senseless attack on the Strip today. We are grateful for the quick response from our [fire department], [police], and other first responders.”
