A Fatal Shooting, Believed to Have Been an Officer-Involved Shooting, Is Under Investigation by Authorities
LAS VEGAS – According to the North Las Vegas Police Department, a fatal officer-involved shooting occurred Monday evening.
On Monday night, a crowd gathered on the southeast corner of West Carey Avenue and Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard to watch the police investigation taking place across the street in the park.
The victim’s mother, Sharon Sanders, came forward and said her son, Christopher Smith, had been killed by an officer, and her son was shot multiple times. She showed a photo of her son to the reporters there.
North Las Vegas resident Brenda Potee, age 65, said Smith was a “nice guy.”
Soon after 7 o’clock, police took to Twitter to report the shooting.
Potee claimed she couldn’t believe it when she found out that Smith had been at her house on Saturday for a party.
