A Hit-And-Run Accident in Downtown Las Vegas Has Left a Pedestrian with Life-Threatening Injuries

On Friday, September 16, 2022, police investigate a hit-and-run crash in downtown Las Vegas that left a pedestrian with life-threatening injuries.

LAS VEGAS- According to authorities, a pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries in a hit-and-run incident in downtown Las Vegas early Friday morning.

According to Lt. Aaron Lee of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the collision occurred around 1:53 a.m. at Washington Avenue and Main Street.

LVMPD reported in a statement that a burgundy or red car, described as an older-model sedan with tinted windows and black wheels, was approaching a red light at Main on Washington.

A homeless 40-year-old man crossed the crosswalk on the west side of Main Street to cross Washington from south to north.

The car failed to stop for a red light, colliding with the pedestrian, and then drove east without halting.

The pedestrian was transported to UMC and was listed in critical condition as of Friday morning.
