A Small Plane That Made Emergency Landing in Lake Mead 3 Months Ago Has Been Found

LAS VEGAS – According to a publication, a small plane forced to make an emergency landing three months ago was discovered at the bottom of Lake Mead near Boulder City.

Last month, a local environmental consulting firm used remotely controlled vehicle and sonar technology to identify the sunken aircraft.

On Oct. 1, the pilot of the single-engine Cessna 182C reported engine failure as he and his passenger approached North Las Vegas Airport.

According to the Review-Journal, the two men escaped the plane through a window and swam to land unharmed.

According to the preliminary investigation of the National Transportation Safety Board, the plane nosed over and came to rest upside down on the lake bottom.
