Abu Dhabi, UAE – Sphere Entertainment Co. announced Tuesday that it will be bringing its groundbreaking immersive entertainment venue, Sphere, to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. This marks the second Sphere venue globally, following the successful launch of the inaugural Sphere in Las Vegas in September 2023.

The Abu Dhabi Sphere, slated to open in 2030, will be a monumental addition to the city’s entertainment landscape. “The vision for Sphere has always included a global network of venues, and today’s announcement is a significant milestone toward that goal,” said James L. Dolan, executive chairman and CEO of Sphere Entertainment.

Since its Las Vegas debut, Sphere has captured global attention with its unique blend of cutting-edge technology, art, and entertainment. The venue boasts an immersive visual experience, thanks to its massive 16K LED display that wraps around the interior, creating a truly captivating environment.

This expansion aligns with Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Strategy 2030, which aims to establish the city as a leading cultural and innovative hub. “Sphere Abu Dhabi will seamlessly integrate advanced technology with captivating storytelling, creating unforgettable memories for everyone who visits,” stated the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi.

The agreement involves the Department of Culture and Tourism paying an initial franchise fee and subsequent annual fees for creative content, ensuring the Abu Dhabi Sphere maintains the high standards set by its Las Vegas counterpart.

The Abu Dhabi Sphere is expected to be a major draw for tourists, further solidifying the city’s position as a global entertainment destination.
