LAS VEGAS – Two dogs were removed from a Las Vegas property by Animal Control early on Saturday morning. This came after reports that one of the dogs had been found with duct tape around its mouth near Alexander Road and Torrey Pines Drive on Friday night. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police arrived on the scene after Animal Control officers determined the incident could be a felony case of animal cruelty.
Neighbors told Channel 13 that they were shocked and horrified after hearing the news. A neighbor, who asked not to be publicly identified, said that the dog’s name was Taz and that he was a good dog who had been trained not to bark at neighbors. The neighbor went on to say that they were confused, sad, and upset when they saw Taz with his mouth taped shut.
Police say that the animal managed to work itself free from the tape and is now safe. Animal cruelty detectives will continue their investigation as they work to get in touch with the dog’s owner.
