LAS VEGAS – As another big weekend of events starts in Las Vegas, it looks like a rise in tourists is increasing prices for everyone.

Friday, it was easy to see that the city was packed and as popular as ever. Thousands of people come to the city for events like Life is Beautiful, so it’s no surprise that the city is always busy.

One tourist told 8 News Now, “It’s really, really pricey.”

But it turns out that the prices are also out of this world. Many people complain that hotel prices are too high.

Francisco Aguayo, another tourist, said, “The prices went up like crazy.”

Vegas.com showed some shocking prices on Friday, like $331 per night at the Circus Circus Hotel & Casino and over $1,000 per night at the Wynn and Encore Las Vegas.

The owner of Fine Entertainment Management, Jonathan Fine, said, “They go up when demand is high.” “Their prices go down when the supply is high.”

Fine said to 8 News: Now, these numbers aren’t great, but he says they show that the economy is doing well and has officially recovered from the start of the pandemic.

“You hear everyone talk about how bad the economy is,” Fine said. “But room prices are crazy because people want to stay there.”

Still, many people told 8 News Now that it’s really breaking the bank because there aren’t any cheaper options or deals.

“They used to have a lot of deals, especially in Las Vegas,” a tourist said. “Like, if you go to a casino, the hotel is really cheap, but that’s not the case right now.”

People who talked to 8 News Now said that they hope things will get better here in Las Vegas soon.

“It’s still crazy,” Aguayo said in the end.

8 News Now also talked to some people who said they could get reasonable room rates, but they had to book their rooms up to six months in advance.

Many people said that the price and availability of Airbnbs made them choose it over a hotel.
