Bentley the Lion Has Passed Away at the Henderson Ranch
Author: Nevada Globe Staff
LAS VEGAS – Unexpectedly, Bentley’s second diagnostic procedure to diagnose his appetite loss and tiredness failed. Our vet found he was anemic. Second anemia test. Symptomatically diagnosing and treating was our hope. His autopsy revealed aplastic anemia, malignancy, and leukemia. Bentley’s death devastated our crew.
Bentley was 16 years old, a lion’s geriatric age. In captivity, lions can live into their 20s. Wild lions rarely live past their teens.
We feel for those who have fond recollections of Bentley. Bentley will always be dear to us, and we appreciate your support.
