Las Vegas, NV – A magnitude 4.7 earthquake centered near Stovepipe Wells in Northern Death Valley, California, was felt in the Las Vegas Valley on Friday morning. The quake occurred at a depth of just over one mile beneath the epicenter.
The seismic event, which took place around 8:04 a.m., sent tremors through Southern Nevada, waking many residents. Several smaller earthquakes also struck the region throughout the morning.
While the epicenter was located nearly 35 miles outside of Beatty, Nevada, the quake’s impact was felt across the state line.
