Las Vegas, NV – A Clark County School District (CCSD) employee has been arrested on charges of sex crimes against a minor. According to an arrest report obtained by FOX5, 20-year-old Jerusalem Roman Garcia admitted to having a relationship with a student.
The investigation began in August when an anonymous student reported the relationship to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police. The student revealed that Garcia’s younger sister had informed them about the inappropriate relationship.
Police interviewed the victim, who described meeting Garcia at a party in May and developing a romantic connection. They went on multiple dates over the following months, engaging in activities such as kissing and making out.
Investigators confirmed the relationship by examining messages between the student and Garcia, which were linked to Garcia’s CCSD employee profile. When questioned by police, Garcia admitted to having a “loving” relationship with the student but denied having sexual intercourse due to the age difference and her professional position.
Despite acknowledging the risks associated with the relationship, Garcia expressed a desire to continue pursuing it even after her arrest. Police observed her attempting to coordinate stories with someone on Instagram, suggesting an attempt to cover up the incident.
Garcia is currently facing charges and is scheduled for a court hearing on September 30th. The incident highlights the importance of addressing inappropriate relationships between school personnel and students and underscores the need for strict policies to protect minors.
