LAS VEGAS – Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom has issued an apology following concerns raised by business owners who felt excluded from a block party aimed at promoting their businesses.
“I totally apologize,” expressed Commissioner Tick Segerblom. “It was inappropriate.”
The apology from Commissioner Segerblom came after he referred to some business owners at the Commercial Center as “ungrateful miscreants.”
One of the business owners, Nancy Good, owner of Core Contemporary art gallery, expressed her surprise and frustration in an email to the county, which was then forwarded to Commissioner Segerblom and Ross Miller.
Commissioner Segerblom explained that his comments were made in a reply-all email without realizing that they would be visible to all recipients, including Nancy Good.
“I talked to Nancy today, and at the end of the day, we agreed to move forward,” stated Segerblom. “I think everyone agrees that the Commercial Center has received more publicity than it has in the last 15 years.”
He further shared that he discussed the email thread with Good and acknowledged that his comment was unacceptable. He expressed his sincere apologies to her, the Las Vegas community, and the businesses affected.
Commissioner Segerblom emphasized that going forward, businesses at the Commercial Center can expect a better environment where they will be seen and heard.

That was not an apology Tick. It was very insensitive, inappropriate and insulting. As a constituent in Las Vegas who watched.
As a constituent I will do everything possible to support voting people like you out. If our elected representatives and leaders are too caught up in being “cool and progressive”, that’s a sure sign that you do not belong in office as a representative of Nevada.
Way to go in shutting out local businesses to try to attain some EDC “cool badge”. Tick you and I are both too old to try to be in with the “cool” crowd.
Your propensity to continue to try to fit in with the cool crowd of young people under 25 really creeps me out. Tick, as a constituent it creeps me out that you think wearing Bermuda shorts and loafers and have a tan as well as the slicker hair…. You creep me out and that is my opinion as a woman.
How about stay in your lane as an elected official and stop being creepy in promoting what could allegedly or possibly encourage underage drug use and corruption of minors or emboldening predator behaviors by nefarious activities (possibly and allegedly) and instead uplift local businesses who were impacted by Sisolak.
